New aircraft and contracts at Moscow air show MAKS 2021
Moscow, Jul 21 (Prensa Latina) Russia's Zala Aero group, of the state corporation Rostec, unveiled its new hybrid unmanned complex, Zala Vtol, with vertical take-off and landing, at the MAKS 2021 air show, local press informed on Wednesday.
According to Zala Aero, part of the Kalashnikov Group within the state tech corporation Rostec, the new drone combines the qualities of an unmanned plane. 'The flight configuration changes depending on the task,' TASS news agency stated.
During its presentation at the International Aviation and Space Salon, its developers explained that the electric power plant allows the vehicle to stay in the air for four hours, providing a flight range of up to 200 kilometers.
Russia's Su-34 fighter-bomber was also presented at MAKS 2021 air show and five countries have already expressed interest in buying it, Dmitry Shugaev, director of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, said.
On Tuesday, new Russian single-engine fighter jet Checkmate was also shown. It will compete with the US F-35A Lightning II fighter and the Swedish JAS-39 Gripen aircraft, Russian Minister of Industry and Commerce Denis Manturov stated.
The International Aviation and Space Salon opened on Tuesday and will run until July 25 in Zhukovski, near Moscow.
