Saudi Arabia refutes use of Israeli software to spy
22 de julio de 2021, 8:11Riyadh, Jul 22 (Prensa Latina) Saudi Arabia's authorities on Thursday refuted accusations about the use of Israeli software Pegasus to spy on journalists and human rights activists.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, an official from the desert's kingdom who spoke on condition of anonymity alleged that those claims are unfounded and false.
Several international media revealed that Pegasus is probably the most powerful spyware and hacking tool ever developed.
Pegasus has the capability to infect billions of phones running either iOS or Android operating systems, which dozens of governments turned to monitor popular movements, journalists and politicians.
In its defense, Israeli company NSO Group, which developed the spyware Pegasus, claimed that it only sells technology to government bodies and at least 40 countries have purchased it.
