Vietnamese leaders congratulate Cuba on National Rebelliousness Day
, Jul 26 (Prensa Latina) Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), on Monday congratulated his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Diaz-Canel, on the 68th anniversary of the attack on the Moncada barracks.
Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc also conveyed his congratulations to the Cuban head of State.
Messages on the occasion of the Day of National Rebelliousness in Cuba were also sent by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and the chairman of the National Assembly, to their Cuban counterparts, Manuel Marrero and Esteban Lazo, respectively.
For his part, Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed his congratulations to his Cuban peer, Bruno Rodriguez.
The Vietnamese leaders reiterated the firm friendship by the CPV, the Vietnamese State, Government and people towards Cuba and the will to increase trade and bilateral cooperation.
On July 26, 1953, a group of young people led by Fidel Castro attacked the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes garrisons, in eastern Cuba, to resume the country's struggles for full independence and sovereignty.
