Afghanistan and Pakistan to reopen border crossings
Kabul, Sep 15 (Prensa Latina) Acting Afghan Foreign Minister Mawlavi Amir Khan Mottaqi said on Wednesday that he had met with the Pakistani ambassador in Kabul to discuss the possibility of reopening the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings.
According to Ariana news agency, Ambassador Mansoor Ahmad Khan assured that both border crossings will be opened for Afghans soon.
Pakistan closed the Torkham crossing to Afghan travelers, and traffic continued intermittently through Spin Boldak, after the takeover of Kabul by the Taliban movement last month.
However, thousands of Afghans have been waiting for weeks in the vicinity of Torkham and Spin Boldak to cross to Pakistan.
