UN peacekeepers to receive Covid-19 jabs

United Nations, Mar 30 (Prensa Latina) UN on Tuesday received as many as 200,000 Covid-19 vaccine doses donated by India for the UN peacekeeping personnel currently serving in different missions around the globe.

According to UN Secretary-General António Guterres´ spokesperson, these vaccine doses are in Copenhagen, Denmark, to be safely stored and repacked for swift distribution to peacekeeping personnel.

Assistant Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix said effective immunization for peacekeepers is key priority, thus the UN will be able to protect these personnel and their ability to continue working on safeguarding vulnerable communities.

Lacroix also thanked the Indian Government and people and called the country as a firm supporter of peacekeeping.
