‘Under the strategy laid out by CEOFAN, the Bolivarian Army is deployed along our land borders to face the threats of destabilizing groups promoting them,’ the high command tweeted.

The Venezuelan armed forces are also taking care of the security and protection of strategic facilities against possible attacks or sabotage, in order to maintain control and full operation of basic services.

It was also pointed out that the head of CEOFAN, Remigio Ceballos, together with his Joint Chiefs of Staff permanently monitor the air, land and river operations carried out against commandos from Colombia.

President Nicolas Maduro denounced in recent statements the escalation of aggressions against Venezuela on the border with Colombia, aimed at creating a scenario of confrontation between the two countries.

The president expressed his support for the operations of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and the security organs in the state of Apure to neutralize paramilitary elements arriving from Colombia.

To date, the operations have left six neutralized members of paramilitary units, 27 suspects brought to justice and another 12 arrested on Wednesday, in addition to the capture of weapons and ammunition, drugs and technological equipment with information related to the group’s activities activities.
