This new shipment will allow Vietnam to continue its domestic immunization campaign, from which more than 50,000 people have already benefited, mostly physicians, health staffers and other personnel.

Vietnam is expecting to receive as many as 30 million Vaxzevria vaccine doses through Covax mechanism, but unfortunately the batch will take longer than expected since, according to Rana Flowers, United Nations Children’s Fund representative, there are some problems with the vaccine production. In line with it, Vietnam is presently developing three new vaccines of its own, two of which are already in human microdosing studies.
