In an official statement published, they expressed their ‘deep concern about the actions conducted by armed groups (…) which have threatened and violated the human rights of the inhabitants (…) Actions that also resulted in the death of two members of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB)’.
The statement also said that the present situation has worsened due to the refusal of the Colombian Executive Power to comply with peace agreements reached with FANB.
It recalled the daily murders of social leaders, the number of displaced people as a result of the armed conflict, and also referred to the fact that Colombia is the world´s largest cocaine producer and exporter.
On the other hand, the organizations urged Venezuela to guarantee sovereignty, territorial integrity and peace in Apure, understanding that if the use of public force is necessary to shield the population, it must be done with full guarantee of the human rights.
