According to the Minister of Public Health, Daniel Rivera, vaccination is progressing in the country, hence the application of 1,172,000 SARS-CoV-2 vaccines, of which 923,000 correspond to the first dose.

Likewise, 26.9 percent of those already vaccinated are completely immunized and of the people who received the first dose to date, the country reached 11.8 percent of the target population: a total of about 7.8 million Dominicans.

Rivera revealed that Covid-19 is controlled in at least 21 of the 32 Dominican provinces and the country is above most countries in the region in the control and prevention of the pandemic.

The health authorities await the arrival of another batch of Chinese vaccines to be able to move on to the next stage of the Plan, but the arrival date is unknown.
