Thousands of Egyptians benefit from Decent Life initiative

Cairo, Apr 5 (Prensa Latina) Over 184,000 citizens received free medical assistance in Egypt in March, as part of the state Decent Life initiative, the Ministry of Health reported on Monday.

Hala Zayed, minister of Health, highlighted that 156 caravans went to remote areas across the country that do not have access to medical services.

Health workers conducted blood analysis, X-rays, parasite tests and transferred more than 2,800 people who needed surgery or specialized consultations to hospitals.

The State will cover the cost of admissions, according to the official statement.

Only in March, there were nearly 39,600 health lectures to raise awareness among rural dwellers and prevent diseases.

People with special needs, especially children and elderly people, were identified as part of the objectives of the campaign.

Decent Life, launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in early 2019, seeks to improve the lives of vulnerable social groups such as poor families, orphan children, women and unemployed young people.

Focused on the fields of education, healthcare and housing, this initiative involves several state and civil society institutions.
