Since The New York Times aired the probe last week, the 38-year-old Congressman and former President Donald Trump´s supporter maintained he is victim of extortion.

According to press reports, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is examining whether Gaetz committed this crime for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl in 2019 and paying for her to travel with him.

In this context, Gaetz claimed that he is not a monk and certainly not a criminal, and wrote on Facebook that he will fight like a demon for his voters and for his country.

On Monday, members of the Democratic Party in Florida, demanded the Gaetz immediate resignation, who also denied allegations against him.

Although inquiry results are still unknown, we have enough details to know that Gaetz cannot continue serving as Congressman so properly.

It was also said that evidence tragically put into perspective the fact that Gaetz rejected the 2017 Anti-Human Trafficking Act with his vote.

In the opinion of the Florida Democrats, Gaetz -during his political career- has created a toxic and unsuitable work environment for women.
