New asymptomatic cases emerge in Chinese city

Beijing, Apr 7 (Prensa Latina) New massive health check-ups are being carried out in the city of Ruili, southwestern China, in the search for asymptomatic Covid-19 patients, following an the outbreak that left a hundred cases in a few days.

This is the second round of tests in the city, carried out in a week as part of the mechanism in place to curb the coronavirus as soon as possible.

Several districts in the city were classified as high and medium epidemiological risk, accumulating at least 114 Covid-19 patients between confirmed and asymptomatic since the first were detected the previous week.

The authorities rule out a large-scale spread, but are rushing the vaccination to achieve an immune barrier as soon as possible among the almost 300,000 inhabitants.

The plan is to administer the CanSino Biologics vaccine, which only requires a single dose.

Medical institutions have been reinforced with the necessary supplies to avoid deaths among the infected, public transport and classes have been suspended, non-essential businesses are closed and the entire population is under quarantine.

According to reports, among the first Covid-19 patients there were four citizens of Myanmar, not far from the city.
