Sri Lanka to receive 100,000 doses of Sputnik-V

Colombo, Apr 7 (Prensa Latina) Sri Lanka will receive from Russia a shipment of 100,000 doses of the Sputnik-V vaccine next week to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, the country's State Pharmaceutical Corporation reported.

This will be the first shipment out of the seven million doses ordered by Sri Lanka, the director general of the aforementioned institution, Dinusha Dasanayake, told the News First site.

According to the source, the manufacturer agreed to supply the remaining batches on a monthly basis.

Sri Lanka counts to date 93,772 confirmed cases of Covid-19, with a balance of 588 deaths and at least 90,708 patients recovered from said contagious disease, according to official statistics.
