During a meeting between the Secretary of State of the Swedish Ministry of International Development Cooperation, Janine Alm Ericson, and the Cuban ambassador to Sweeden, Alba Soto, they assessed issues of bilateral interest and the potentialities to increase the exchange.

Ericson examined the Cooperation Strategy for Cuba approved for the period 2021-2025, which is in its final phase of configuration.

Meanwhile, Soto highlighted the positive results of the collaboration projects.

The diplomat also mentioned the possibility of establishing mechanisms for triangular cooperation.

Soto explained the actions of Cuba in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and the effects of the tightening of the U.S. blockade, which even affects links with other nations.

Both officials agreed on the need to give continuity to the bilateral meetings with due observance of the sanitary protocols against the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

The meeting was also attended by the third secretary of the Cuban embassy in Stockholm, Victor Garcia.
