Bolivia’s gov’t warns of phantoms in the purchase of vaccines

La Paz, Apr 21 (Prensa Latina) Bolivia's government on Wednesday ratified its support to departments and municipalities for the importation of vaccines, but warned of the existence of alleged phantom intermediaries.

Bolivia’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Integration Benjamin Blanco interviewed by Red Patria Nueva, warned that some contacts generated by municipal governments are intermediaries not recognized by the pharmaceutical companies, which means that those alleged phantom intermediaries could be swindling the buyers.

The authority also emphasized that the national government is willing to help governments and municipalities to make the importation of Covid-19 vaccines viable, regardless of the political color or if it is a private company who brings the antidotes to the country because the more there are the faster we will get out of the pandemic.

Blanco indicated that, however, no regional government has so far submitted a request for the importation of those drugs.
