Cuban project wins at the Summit on Information Society

Geneva, Apr 22 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's project CMHS Radio Caibarien, La Voz de la Villa Blanca (the Voice of the White Village) on Wednesday won a prize in the media category, granted by the 2021 World Summit on the Information Society.

This initiative, which belongs to the Cuban Radio and Television Institute, was chosen as one of five winners in this category, according to the website of the event, organized by the International Telecommunication Union, based in this Swiss city.

The objective of CMHS Radio Caibarien is to inform, disclose the tangible and intangible culture, history and human values of this municipality of the central province of Villa Clara.

The World Summit on the Information Society is the major annual meeting of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for development.

The only United Nations event of its kind, its program and agenda are established through an open consultation process.

During the 2020 edition, the Summit acknowledged the work of Segurmatica, a company that promotes the development of security solutions and products in Cuba and abroad.

Scratchers Cuba, a tool to design games, interactive stories and multimedia animations using a visual programming environment focused on education, was also a winner.
