Mexico and China sign cooperation agreement in medicine

Mexico, Apr 22 (Prensa Latina) Mexico and China signed a cooperation agreement on medicine through the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risk (COFEPRIS) and the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Thursday.

The Secretariat explains in a press release that the agreement will speed up the inspection and approval processes for vaccines, medicines and medical devices from both countries.

The regulatory agencies of each country virtually welcomed the agreement signed at an event in which COFEPRIS federal commissioner Alejandro Svarch and Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights at the Mexican Secretariat of Foreign Affairs, Martha Delgado Peralta, were present.

NMPA commissioner Jiao Hong and Chinese Ambassador to Mexico Mr. Zhu Qingqiao also attended the event.

The agreement stipulates that both agencies will take into account the registration information issued by their counterpart as a reference, always under the applicable national legislation.

Firman acuerdo de cooperación en medicina México y China

México, 22 abr (Prensa Latina) México y China firmaron un acuerdo de cooperación sobre fármacos mediante la Comisión Federal para la Protección contra Riesgos Sanitarios (Cofepris) y la Administración Nacional de Productos Médicos, confirmó hoy la cancillería.

En un comunicado de prensa explica que el acuerdo permitirá acelerar los procesos de inspección y aprobación de vacunas, fármacos y dispositivos médicos procedentes de ambos países.

Las agencias regulatorias de cada país celebraron de manera virtual la firma en un evento en el cual estuvieron presentes el comisionado federal de la Cofepris, Alejandro Svarch, y la subsecretaria para Asuntos Multilaterales y Derechos Humanos de la cancillería, Martha Delgado Peralta.

Por parte de la delegación china, asistieron la comisionada de la Administración Nacional Jiao Hong, así como el embajador de la nación asiática en México, Zhu Qingqiao.

El acuerdo estipula que ambas agencias tomarán en cuenta la información de registro emitida por su homóloga como referencia, siempre bajo la legislación aplicable nacional.
