Germany’s scholars tackle US blockade’s impact on Cuba in an event

Berlin, Apr 22 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's situation and the effects of the US blockade were discussed on Friday within the framework of the Science and Society Initiative in Hamburg, Germany.

The event took place virtually and was attended by directors and researchers from the Electron Synchrotron (DESY), the largest German particle physics research center, diplomatic sources informed.

During the meeting, Cuban scientist Armando Bermudez Martinez made a presentation entitled ‘A tightened blockade in Covid-19 times and economic crisis,’ which demonstrated the growing hostility of the US against Cuba.

The historic results of the vote in the United Nations General Assembly were presented, the majority of countries demand by casting their vote to put an end of that unilateral policy every year.

The presentation was followed by a debate, a question and answer session and interventions by the participants in the encounter.

The online meeting was attended by scientists and scholars from other German institutions, as well as Cuban residents and doctoral students in Germany.
