Al-Assad and Putin review bilateral relations

Damascus, Apr 26 (Prensa Latina) Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Monday reviewed bilateral relations over the telephone with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, especially in the commercial and economic sectors.

In a press release posted on Telegram, the Syrian Presidency informed that Al-Assad and Putin also talked about political issues such as the work by the Constitutional Commission and the Western pressure to divert it from its legal path.

Joint cooperation to face the Covid-19 pandemic was also addressed and, about this issue, Putin expressed Russia’s willingness to send vaccines and additional assistance to help the Syrian people to cope with the disease.

According to the information, Al-Assad expressed his gratitude for the humanitarian assistance Russia is offering to the Syrian people to eliminate the effects of the unjust blockade imposed by the United States and its allies.

During the talk, Al-Assad supported Russia, which is facing the escalation of attacks from Western countries, and praised its policies that are governed by respect for International Law to achieve stability in the world.

Syria and Russia maintain solid relations, which are expressed through the military, political and economic support for Syria to face the war imposed by the United States and its allies from Europe and the region.
