On her real user account @InesMChapman, Chapman informed her followers about this situation and stated ‘I love my country and with Fidel always. Homeland or Death, We Shall Overcome!’

The fake account does not use the hashtags Chapman normally uses on her tweets: #SomosCuba, #CubaViva and #SomosContinuidad.

On previous occasions, a great number of specialists and the press have agreed that the use of social networks to try to discredit Cuban leaders and confuse netizens is part of the soft coup strategy that is being applied in the country.

In this regard, media experts such as Cuban Rosa Miriam Elizalde and Argentine political scientist Atilio Borón recently commented to Prensa Latina that the so-called fake news are part of the US subversion against Cuba.
