Both officials held a meeting in Muscat, the capital of Oman, on the last phase of Zarif’s journey, which took him previously to Qatar and Iraq.

According to a review by HispanTV, the Iranian diplomat warned about the serious Yemeni humanitarian situation as a result of a blockade and hostility from a military coalition led by Saudi Arabia.

The political route constitutes the only solution to achieve the end of the crisis in Yemen, Zarif said, and called for a ceasefire and talks between the participants in the conflict.

Iran presented a four-point peace plan to solve the Yemeni crisis that calls for an end to the foreign offensive, the dispatch of humanitarian aid, as well as the resumption of dialogue between all groups and political parties.
