Costa Rica insists on multilateralism to overcome global crisis

San José, Apr 30 (Prensa Latina) Costa Rican Foreign Minister Rodolfo Solano on Thursday claimed that to overcome growing and complex challenges in the region, we require a strong and effective multilateralism.

The United Nations is that multilateral forum par excellence and our best bet to address present and future challenges, understanding that ‘a global crisis requires a global response,’ Rodolfo Solano spoke at an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Central American Integration System (SICA) with UN Permanent Representatives and UNDP Residents.

Costa Rica´s Ministry of Foreign Relations and Worship said the virtual meeting sought to promote a talk among SICA member countries with UN to learn about and deepen on innovative initiatives and projects promoted by the UN at regional level, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and its consequences.
