India, China agree to collaborate to fight against Covid-19

New Delhi, Apr 30 (Prensa Latina) China will support India with the necessary materials to fight against the new wave of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, assured on Friday China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi, in a telephone conversation with his Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

The call was arranged at the request of the Chinese side to convey its solidarity with India at the current situation, China’s Foreign Ministry website reported.

According to the Foreign Ministry’s information, Jaishankar briefed China’s State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the ongoing efforts to address the challenge posed by the second wave of SARS-CoV-2 novel coronavirus in India.

He said New Delhi is fully determined to do whatever is necessary to overcome this challenge.

Jaishankar noted that Indian entities are in the process of procuring the required products and raw materials from suppliers in China.

He pointed out that this would be facilitated if various transport corridors and cargo flights remain open and necessary logistical support is ensured expeditiously.
