China defends non-interference in El Salvador´s crisis

San Salvador, May 4 (Prensa Latina) Chinese embassy in El Salvador refused to interfere in the Central American country´s internal affairs, following international backlash to changes in the judiciary.

‘China always applies the non-interference principle in other countries´ internal affairs and is convinced that the Salvadoran people have the ability and wisdom to better manage their own internal affairs,’ said the Chinese embassy.

The embassy stressed that sovereign equality and non-interference in internal affairs is the most important principle of the UN Charter.

A great number of international organizations and governments expressed their deep concern about measures passed by Parliament.

The UN, Organization of American States (OAS), European Union (EU) and other bodies expressed their concern about the issue, but President Nayib Bukele said these issues do not concern the international community. ef/pll/msm/cmv
