The Minister of Human Rights of this parallel administration, made up of officials of the ousted government and representatives of ethnic minorities, U Aung Myo Min, said that this is one of its first steps.
‘I will work with the people to record rights violations, crimes against humanity and war crimes in ethnic areas so that the truth can be established,’ he noted.
On speaking to local online The Irrawaddy daily, he explained to be seeking public cooperation because he wants to assure people that they can trust his ministry and get justice.
Min added that he will file complaints with the International Criminal Court and other courts.
The military council is violating international law. We will take steps to ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable and justice is done for the victims, he assured.
