Successful week for hotel industry in Cuba

Havana, May 14 (Prensa Latina) Several awards and reports involving the hotel industry in Cuba show a successful week for the island's tourism despite the severe impact of Covid-19.

Facilities operated by Spanish chains Melia Hotels and Roc Hotels won the prestigious Travelers’ Choice 2021 Awards, in addition that the Spanish hotel group Iberostar will launch its virtual summer catalog.

These new features indicate a wide mobility of Cuban tourism as of security protocols that recognize not only professionals in the sector, but also travelers, highlighting the Jardines del Rey tourist facilities, in Cayo Coco, and the Varadero beach resort.

The report states that 17 Melia Cuba hotels were accredited in these seven days as the winners of the prestigious Travelers’ Choice 2021 Award, posted on TripAdvisor travel website.

Melia Cayo Coco Hotel, with the Best of The Best distinction, Melia Cohiba Hotel, Melia Habana Hotel, Melia San Carlos Hotel, Melia Santiago de Cuba Hotel, Gran Hotel By Melia, Sol Varadero Beach Resort, Melia Cayo Santa Maria Hotel, Tryp Cayo Coco Hotel, Sol Rio de Luna y Mares Hotel, and Paradisus Los Cayos Hotel, among others, won the award.

Before the week ends, it was also known that Iberostar Hotels & Resorts in Cuba launched its virtual summer catalog for 2021.

Such tourism features ensure the confidence of the large hotel and tourism companies in the recovery of the travel industry for this nation, operators in the sector said.
