Arab Parliament asks UN to probe into Israeli attacks on Palestine

Cairo, May 21 (Prensa Latina) Arab Parliament has asked the United Nations (UN) to set up an International Investigation Committee to scouting out Israeli actions on the Palestinian people.

The legislative body of the Arab League requests a ‘neutral and fair’ report following a probe into possible Israeli ‘war crimes and crimes against humanity’.

Members of the Arab Parliament issued their request to the UN during an emergency meeting to debate on Israel´s recent attacks on the Gaza Strip and Jerusalem.

The regional entity demanded the prosecution before the International Criminal Court of any person and supporters found responsible for such crimes.

Likewise, it asked the UN Security Council (UNSC) to take all measures ‘to immediately stop Israel´s bombings and massacres over the defenseless Palestinian people’ in all territories.

Arab Parliament warned of regional and global consequences as a result of Israeli actions on Palestine and the threat it posed to international peace and security.

Several delegates noted the need to force Israel to implement UNSC´s resolutions on Jerusalem and occupied Palestinian territories, and if necessary, to impose dissuasive sanctions on the situation.

The Arab Parliament requested that the UN Human Rights Council hold an emergency session to discuss Israel’s stance over Palestinian people and its violation of the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
