Oxford University to host G7 Health ministers’ meeting in June

London, May 21 (Prensa Latina) The G7 Health ministers will meet at Oxford University in early June to discuss strategies to protect the world from future pandemics, the British Government informed.

The meeting, which will be held in-person on June 3-4, will be the prelude to the summit that leaders from seven of the world’s richest countries will hold from June 11 to 13 in Cornwall, England.

Oxford is the perfect place to hold crucial debates on how the world should prepare to fight future health threats, Health Secretary Matt Hancock said.

The G7, made up of Germany, Canada, the United States, France, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom, represents two-thirds of the global pharmaceutical market.

According to British authorities, the face-to-face meeting of the G7 Health ministers will take place under strict sanitary measures to reduce coronavirus transmission risks, so all participants should present a negative Covid-19 test result before entering the country, and undergo daily testing during the event.
