During the meeting, described as fruitful and cordial, the parties discussed topics of interest to continue to strengthen the inter-parliamentary ties between the two countries, which will celebrate the 47th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year, and which are historically united by cultural and brotherly ties.

The Cuban ambassador, when referring to the coming presentation on June 23 of the Cuban Resolution demanding the need to lift the US blockade against Cuba, reiterated her deep gratitude, on behalf of her people and government, for Senegal’s traditional position of supporting this fair cause.

She also extended warm congratulations to the Senegalese lawmakers on behalf of the Cuban Parliament for the 58th anniversary of Africa Day on Tuesday, May 25.

For his part, Deputy Mbow expressed interest in visiting Cuba accompanied by a parliamentary delegation.
