According to a press release from the Presidency, within the framework of the Strategic Plan for Vaccination, which is close to finish this week, Argentina completed a record work with the doses that arrived in various local jurisdictions to speed up the process.

From Friday to Saturday, the provinces and Buenos Aires will receive 400,200 doses of Sputnik V’s first component, some 80,100 doses of the second component and 600,100 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, through the World Health Organization’s Covax mechanism.

On Twitter, Minister of Health Carla Vizzotti informed that next Monday, 2,148,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines will arrive in the country, which will be the largest shipment on a single flight.

Thus, the country will have received over 17.5 million vaccines for the national plan against Covid-19.

‘It is important to continue taking care of ourselves and lower number of cases while continuing to vaccinate. We are aiming that with the doses arriving at the end of May and those that will arrive in June we will be able to strongly scale up vaccination before winter,’ Vizzotti specified.

So far, according to data from the Public Vaccination Monitor, 11,676,733 Argentineans have already been vaccinated, including 2,592,133 with two doses.
