Bolivia´s trade surplus shows solid growth in January-April period

La Paz, May 29 (Prensa Latina) Bolivia registered a trade surplus worth US million in the first four months of 2021, the highest in seven years, due to a solid growth in its exports, the National Institute of Statistics (INE) reported.

Until April, trade balance showed an accumulated dividend worth US$453 million, higher compared to the same period in 2020, when it showed an only $28 million earning, so such a result is the highest one since 2015, according to INE´s monthly report.

Sustained exports growth was presented by the Economy Minister Marcelo Montenegro, as a sign of recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the INE, accumulated exports in January-April 2021 period reached over $3 billion, a figure higher by $785 million than that registered in the same period of previous year.

In the same period, imports reached over US$2,6 billion, with a rise worth $361 million over the same period in 2020.
