The newspaper explained that Cuba is presently developing its own ant-Covid-19 Vaccines, but unfortunately the blockade imposed by the United States over 60 years ago makes it impossible to manufacture enough doses for its population and delays its vaccination campaign.

According to Yuri Valdés, deputy director of Cuba´s Finlay Vaccine Institute, who said they have not been able to vaccinate more Cubans due to the shortage of resources to produce more vaccines.

If Joe Biden’s government may not have time to review the entire Cuba-related policy, the one which concerns all Cubans admitted to hospitals for Covid-19 or subject to vaccination, must be reviewed, Valdés condemned.

Concerning the increased coronavirus infections in recent months, Cuba has launched a campaign to vaccinate at-risk populations on May 12, and also planned to vaccinate 70% of its population by August, the newspaper reported.
