Pregnant women are a risk group, they are not exempt from contracting the virus, but the most important thing is that they know their progression to severity once they are infected, Napoles explained on television.

During pregnancy, the immune system changes, and makes them more vulnerable to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes Covid-19.

The respiratory system also changes and the coronavirus finds a suitable place to develop the infection, Napoles said.

The obstetrician asked this risk group to stay at home as long as possible, limit visitors to their homes, wash their hands frequently and wear the facemask correctly.
