Kim Jong Un calls to boost North Korean economy

Pyongyang, Jun 5 (Prensa Latina) North Korean leader Kim Jong Un called for a broad political conference to discuss efforts to boost the domestic economy, local media reported on Saturday.

The state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) noted that Kim chaired a meeting of the ruling Korean Workers’ Party (KWP), at which he called for a plenary meeting of its Central Committee to review overall state affairs for the first half of 2021.

According to the source, the KWP leader expressed gratitude for a lot of works being sped up thanks to the ideological enthusiasm and fighting spirit of self-reliance demonstrated by the Party and the people.

Kim, who is also the chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, said that after this debate, additional state measures will be taken to solve urgent pending problems for the economic work and people’s lives.

He also emphasized that in the current situation, promoting a strong campaign is necessary for stability and improvement of the economy through a significant reinforcement of the leading role of the Party.
