In a virtual press conference, Urpilainen said as for human development, some countries focus on education while others in inequalities, social protection and health care.

For the 2021-2027 period, programs financed by the EU will be backed up by the New Neighbor and Cooperation Indenture (Ndici)- the first in 50 years to fully draw from communitary funds-, some 79.500 billion Euros, from which some 3.390 billions will be destined to Latin America and the Caribbean, she explained.

Furthermore, a number of tools will interrelate in order to increase the effectiveness of European action, she continued.

¨We must create a global process so that countries come to the right track to achieve the development goals and those of the Paris Agreement¨, Urpilainen emphasized.
