Most Haitians refuse to receive vaccine against Covid-19

Port-au-Prince, Jun 16 (Prensa Latina) Some 76 percent of nearly 12 million Haitians refuse to get the Covid-19 vaccine, if it were available in the country, according to a survey quoted by local media on Wednesday.

Safitek Research’s survey interviewed 561 persons over 15 years of age, from diverse demographic backgrounds, between April 5 and 19, 2021.

According to the poll, ’76 percent of those surveyed stated that they would not take the vaccine against if it were available, opposite to only 9 percent that would accept it without coercion’, the research noted.

On the other hand, 11 percent of those polled expressed willingness be vaccinated, depending on the origin of the product and who will administer it.

Regarding gender, 80 percent of women refused to take the vaccine, against 72 percent of men, while only 16 percent of women agreed on immunization.
