During a speech at the Moscow Conference on International Security, Shoigu highlighted President Vladimir Putin’s guidance to agree on a set of transparency measures to restore trust and eliminate concerns between the parties.

The Russian minister warned that any of these decisions will be a new round of the arms race, with which the economic development of the region and globally will be slowed down.

President Vladimir Putin expressed the country’s concern over the continued development of NATO military capabilities and infrastructure near its borders, in a video message released by the Kremlin on Wednesday.

Russia expects that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization considers the Russian initiatives to reduce tensions, the president said this when greeting participants and guests of the 9th Moscow Conference on International Security.
