It also joined the international call to end this ‘ominous commercial siege.’

Its national coordinator, Alberto Anaya, considered it necessary to end the blockade that has left serious consequences for the people of a country solidary to the world.

Neoliberalism has not been able to subdue the sacrifices and struggles of the Cuban people in more than 60 years. Their example of resistance and dignity is a breath of hope for the progressive nations of Latin America, Anaya pointed out.

In the same way, he stressed that the Republic of Cuba has demonstrated throughout history its capacity for scientific and social development, which it makes available to the world without any distinction.

‘We recognize their solidarity and I hope that their self-determination as an independent people is categorically respected and that type of interference is not allowed,’ he said.

‘Especially now, in one of the most difficult times for the world due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Cuba has shown conviction and loyalty to humanity by supporting the countries with its medical personnel and overcome this difficult stage in history,’ as he pointed out,
