ALBA-TCP ratifies commitment to Latin American integration

Caracas, Jun 25 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) on Friday renewed the commitment to unity and cooperation in the face of threats to the region's stability.

At the end of the 19th Summit of Heads of State and Government of ALBA-TCP, held in Caracas, the high authorities of the bloc ratified the will of genuinely Latin American and Caribbean integration, which allow to confront the claims of imperialist domination.

In this sense, the member countries of the Alliance highlighted the need to strengthen the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) as a mechanism of political agreement that brings together the states of the region, based on the principle of unity in diversity.

The final declaration of the meeting also welcomed the return of the constitutional order in Bolivia, and the domestic and international efforts done by President Luis Arce to move towards the economic reactivation of the South American country.

The ALBA-TCP reiterated the recognition to the legitimate authorities of Venezuela and praised the upcoming holding of regional and municipal elections, an expression of the solid participatory and leading democracy of the Venezuelan people.

The Alliance also reaffirmed the condemnation to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by Washington against Cuba, as well as the rejection to the discrediting campaign promoted by the United States Government against the Cuban medical cooperation, amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
