DPRK strongly rejects US blockade against Cuba

Havana, Jun 26 (Prensa Latina) Both government and people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) categorically reject the hostile blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for over 60 years, North Korean Ambassador in Havana Ma Chol Su stated.

Both nations are a good example of friendly relations and solidarity that has lasted over time, Ma told Prensa Latina.

The Cuban Committee to Support the Peaceful Reunification of Korea turned 55 years on June 16, and the Cuban people have expressed their solidarity all this time with the just cause of the Korean people, Ma stressed.

In his opinion, traditional friendly and collaborative relations by leaders of both Revolutions, Fidel Castro and Kim Il Sung, are the legacy and common good for both countries.

Since the Cuban Revolution Triumph, Ma pointed out, Comrade Kim has expressed his unchangeable solidarity for Cuba´s cause, and his unwavering choice to support the Caribbean nation for socialism construction.

DPRK considers the defense of the Cuban Revolution as a duty, something that it made clear during the 1962 Missile Crisis, Ma remarked.

DPRK-Cuba friendship and unity are developed and strengthened in the fight for common cause, thus overcoming difficulties together, and this is a good example of camaraderie relations, the North Korean diplomat stated.

Ma Chol Su recalled the 35th anniversary of Fidel Castro’s visit to Pyongyang, when the leaders of both countries signed the Agreement on Friendship and Cooperation between Korea and Cuba, a milestone and guarantee of mutual support and encouragement for anti-imperialist struggle, independence and socialism.
