During the talks, Putin stressed the importance of the agreement in the development of bilateral relations, and considered it a reflection of the deep historic traditions of good neighborliness between the peoples of both countries, according to local television.
Putin stated that the treaty capitalizes on fundamental agreements linked to the protection of the unity and territorial integrity of the two States, the use of nuclear weapons, the respect for the sovereign right to choose their own governments, their path for development and non-interference in internal affairs.
Russia and China have taken their relations to unprecedented high levels, turning them into an interstate cooperation model in the 21st century, according to Putin. He added that both Moscow and Beijing have created a multilevel mechanism of bilateral coordination without analogues in world practice.
‘All of this allows efficiently solving the problems that appear in the course of interaction between both countries and planning joint work for the future,’ Putin stressed.
Coordination between China and Russia plays a stabilizing role in global affairs in the context of a growing geopolitical turbulence and a rise in the potential for conflicts, Putin went on.
