During his daily briefing on television, the National Director of Epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Duran, reported that 134 of the new cases were imported and the rest resulted from local transmission, so 197,253 cases with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus have been reported in the country so far.

Dr. Duran said that 20 people died, included a pregnant woman, in the past 24 hours, so the death toll soared to 1,322.

He added that 21.3 percent of the newly reported cases were asymptomatic, so the number of patients without symptoms rose to 87,952 since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country.

The expert mentioned 535 pediatric patients (people under 18), including 30 children under 1 year of age, 12 of whom are under six months.

Therefore, Cuba has reported 27,325 children with Covid-19, 91.4 percent of whom have already recovered from the disease.

Matanzas is the most hit province by the disease, with 916 cases reported in the past few hours, followed by Havana (465) and Camagüey (358).
