Caracas, July 2 (Prensa Latina) The influences of tropical storm Elsa as it passes through the Caribbean area are affecting Venezuela since less than 24 hours, according to the report of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh) today.

According to the report this Friday, the hydrometeorological phenomenon during its trajectory through the region modulates the wind pattern towards the Venezuelan coasts generating moderate or strong rainfall, electrical discharges and air gusts in the northeastern, insular, Delta Amacuro and central north coastal area .

Inameh predicts that the activity of the Intertropical Convergence Zone generates cloudy areas with rains and electrical activity in the Zulia, Andes, Central and Western Plains, the Amazone, Bolívar and the Essequibo, this is the result of Tropical Wave number 15 moving out of the country .

While the maximum temperatures in the afternoon will be close to 34 ° C especially in areas of Zulia and Falcón.

Meanwhile, the authorities warned the residents to be attentive to the reports to anticipate the evacuation of low areas and of possible floods or landslides, in case the rain persists over the national territory.
