President of Cuba highlights virtual environmental convention

Havana, Jul 7 (Prensa Latina) The president of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez highlighted the virtual realization of the 13th International Convention on Environment and Development, linked to Covid-19, as an achievement of the computerization of the country.

The convention, under the slogan ‘Science and awareness for the sustainability of the environment’, began last Monday and will last until next Friday, a 1,079 scientific works from all Cuban provinces and foreign representatives will be presented, in eight different venues.

The 13th Congress on Environmental Education for Sustainable Development, the 12th Congress on Protected Areas, the 10th Congress on Environmental Management, the 8th Congress on Ecosystem Management and Biodiversity, the 7th on Climate Change and the 5ht on Politics, Justice and Environmental Law are taking place in parallel.

The Congress of Geospatial Sciences, space weather and Disaster Risk will take place with 127 presentations for the first time.
