Belarusian Communists denounced US policy on Cuba

Minsk, Jul 15 (Prensa Latina) The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus on Thursday denounced the hostility of the US policy towards Cuba and its link with disturbances that occurred on July 11 on the island.

‘After Venezuela, Bolivia and Ecuador, Washington is now implementing with Cuba its new concepts of change of regime, against leftist and communist political systems in South America and in general in Latin America,’ a statement says.

It points out that the actions by the United States are directed against those States that build their policies on high standards of social security for the population and, in an opportunistic manner, take advantage of the global affectations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The document warns that as part of the very crisis affecting it, the United States will try to drag the countries of the region into a chain of territorial, ethnic and military conflicts.

‘They are trying to preserve their functions as world gendarme, although it is obvious that the United States has no longer the forces and means for large-scale military control of several regions of the world,’ it considers.

The text highlights the decision by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and the country’s authorities to defend the Revolution to the last consequences, a position held a year ago by Belarusian President Alexandr Lukashenko, during the protests organized by the opposition.

Belarusian communists expressed their support for and solidarity with Cuba. ‘We are confident that the US destabilization attempt will fail,’ the statement adds.
