Both organizations carried out a day of solidarity with the Caribbean island in the city of Calcutta, capital of West Bengal state.

The Federation of Students of India reaffirmed its defense of the Cuban people and their socialist Revolution in the context of the new attack organized from the United States.

A statement from that student entity at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, in this capital, emphasized that US rulers intensified blockade measures and financial persecution against Cuba, to suffocate its economy and try to provoke a social outbreak on the island.

In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, ‘US imperialism under the command of President Joe Biden decided to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the pandemic to promote instability in the small socialist nation’, the text states.

The Federation of Students of India also compared that while Cuba deploys solidarity medical aid with thousands of doctors and nurses around the world, the United States maintains a military presence in 150 countries, and has carried out military interventions in many of them.
