In a comment after Sunday’s Angelus prayer, the Holy Pontiff noted that ‘in the past week, news have brought, regrettably, episodes of violence that have worsened the situation of many of our brothers in South Africa.’

Along with South Africa’s bishops, I make a heartfelt call to all those involved to work for peace and collaborate with authorities to assist the needy, Pope Francis stressed.
