Moscow communists reject foreign meddling in Cuban affairs

Moscow, Jul 20 (Prensa Latina) The Communist Party of Moscow on Tuesday demanded an end to all efforts by the United States to interfere in Cuba's internal affairs and the lifting of the blockade against the island.

The Communist party sent a letter to their colleagues in Havana expressing their support for the efforts being made by Cuban State and Government to maintain the course of socialist development that the country defends.

They expressed indignation for and condemnation of the provocations that took place in recent days in some Cuban regions, ‘organized by US imperialism and its emigrated henchmen’.

The letter stated that the goal is to divide Cuban society, undermine the unity of the Communist Party and the people, and force Cubans to capitulate to strong external pressure.

They denounced that for more than 60 years Cuba has faced the most severe economic, commercial and financial blockade, ‘established by the forces of imperialism to destroy the first socialist State in the Americas.’

The communiqué, published on the organization’s website, recalled that the Cuban people have always rejected any interference in their historic election in favor of socialism. ‘There is no doubt that this will continue being the case.’

The Communist Party of Moscow reiterated its support for Cuba and its Revolution, and expressed its confidence that ‘it will not allow anyone to take away the social gains achieved in battle and the work of millions of sons and daughters.’
