According to the text, both leaders spoke on Tuesday over the phone on several bilateral and regional issues, including the latest events in Libya.

About the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), El-Sisi advocated for peacefully resolving the dispute with Ethiopia while he insisted on Egypt’s historical rights over the Nile River waters and the importance for its water security.

The president also called to boost negotiations to reach a broad, fair and legally binding agreement on the rules of compliance and operation of the GERD.

Johnson expressed support to the efforts to resume negotiations in order to reach a just solution, the note stated.
