Thailand on its worst day regarding Covid-19

Bangkok, Jul 29 (Prensa Latina) Thailand, the world's second country where Covid-19 broke out, had its most unfortunate day regarding the pandemic on Thursday, when it reported the highest figures of 17,669 contagions and 165 deaths.

Until today, Thailand has accumulated 561,030 contagions, the highest number in the region after Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia, while deaths amounted to 4,562.

Starting in April and linked to the Delta variant of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, the third wave of the disease is responsible for 95 percent of cases and 99 percent of deaths in Thailand.

In this capital, the epicenter of the pandemic in the country and in need of hospital beds, the Metropolitan Administration has enabled a dozen train cars to admit patients with mild symptoms of the disease starting on Friday.
